Taking a very close look at the portrait, you’ll see this:
The headdress seems to consist of either a sister piece of the necklace Elizabeth wears (by the way, a nice reproduction of *that* kind of headdress is sold at http://www.sapphireandsage.com/ 🙂 ) – or perhaps a strip of fabric, slightly pointed towards the front middle, to which some pearl strings and a jewel are attached, which is basically decorated just like the necklace.
I decided for the latter, as I have fairly long hair, which I can braid into a crown and wind that strip around it, giving a similar appearance.
You already know how to make Cinques etc, and in the „Sleeveband“ chapter I will tell you about the craft glue / gold foil method; so I’ll spare you the rest – here’s the picture of the finished band. I have added a comb to the front, so that I can attach it easily to my head:
Next we will make the necklace in a similar manner.
