I have no idea which costume this is supposed to be – I would guess it should be the wedding dress; but the original one wasn’t decorated with „cut sari appliqués“ but with straw embroidery.
Anyway, I think it’s some sort of clever and quick way to make this costume. This ‚reproduction‘, of course, is about as historically correct as the original costume – as in „not at all“.
That having said I would like to add that I think the wax figurine doesn’t look much like Keira Knightley, but that’s of course just my own opinion.
